Hardy is a heated young man who, for personal reasons, turns his back on his homeland and embarks on a military career that not only reveals the true face of war to him, but also gets him into big trouble. After Frank, a secret service agent, helps him out of trouble and offers him a job, Hardy only sinks deeper into a swamp of corruption and the perverse power games elites play. He begins life imprisonment in a Russian prison shortly before the beginning of an apocalypse. No one can explain the global plague that resurrects the dead and makes them ravenous for the flesh of the living. Far from civilization, isolated in a land of freezing cold, conditions in prison grow drastically worse. Hardy wants answers to what caused the global chaos.

Hardy has a hot lead that could finally provide him with answers to his questions. Together with Madeline, Frank, Dimitrij and Esra, he takes the dangerous journey and finds new allies in Harry and his community. But Hardy's fight against the creature has left traces that are becoming more and more obvious and seem inexplicable. After a brutal attack on Madeline, the community is surprisingly attacked by undead. With an old locomotive, they cross the vast steppes of Russia and repeatedly get into dicey situations. Shortly before Moscow, a ruthless and well-organized group appears in an attack helicopter, who only want one thing - Hardy.

Only he can answer Hardy's questions before it's too late. Because his plan is a risky game against time. Meanwhile, Madeline, Dimitrij and the others make their way home with their newfound friends. A problematic undertaking, as it turns out. Because this time the undead are not the only problem they have to contend with. A series of mysterious accidents only leads to the conclusion that they are being hunted by a ruthless killer.

Hardy begibt sich in seiner letzten Mission aufs offene Meer, um eine Insel zu finden, die es eigentlich gar nicht geben dürfte. Dort soll sich Dr. O`Neill aufhalten, einer der Verantwortlichen für das weltweite Chaos. Nur er kann Hardys Fragen beantworten, bevor es zu spät ist. Denn sein Vorhaben ist ein riskantes Spiel gegen die Zeit. Währenddessen machen sich Madeline, Dimitrij und die anderen mit ihren neu gewonnenen Freunden auf den Weg nach Hause. Ein problematisches Unterfangen, wie sich herausstellt. Denn diesmal sind die Untoten nicht das einzige Problem, mit dem sie zu kämpfen haben. Eine Reihe mysteriöser Unfälle lässt nur den Schluss zu, dass sie von einem skrupellosen Killer gejagt werden.

As a big fan of horror films (I'm particularly fond of the living dead), I watch every movie I can get my hands on. Of course, there are good and bad works in this genre too. In mid-2020, I once again witnessed a terrible film, the title of which quickly slipped my mind. Two irretrievable hours of my life fell victim to a work of art that nevertheless made me think. Who wrote the script and what drugs did he take beforehand? Who waved the project through? Where the hell do they get the funding for such intellectual nonsense?

I went to the toilet and thought. Really. Or rather, I asked myself questions. Why is it not explained (in most movies) how this Z-apocalypse came about? The plot consists only of the protagonists' struggle for survival and the ending is left open. Nothing against well-made masks and great effects, but such movies leave me very unsatisfied. So I came up with the idea of a creature whose bite turns people into the undead, who in turn infect others. But where would this creature come from and who would stop it? The man-versus-man principle at the end of many films seemed perfect for a showdown. But how should the main character be constructed?

Als Horrorfilm-Fan (vor allem die lebenden Toten haben es mir angetan) schaue ich jeden Streifen, der mir unter die Finger kommt. Natürlich gibt es auch in diesem Genre gute und schlechte Werke. Mitte 2020 wurde ich, wieder einmal, Zeuge eines grottenschlechten Streifens, dessen Titel mir schnell wieder entfallen ist. Zwei unwiderbringliche Stunden meines Lebens fielen einem üblen Machwerk zum Opfer, dass mich dennoch zum nachdenken brachte. Wer hat das Drehbuch geschrieben und welche Drogen hat er vorher eingeworfen? Wer hat das Projekt durchgewunken? Woher zum Teufel bekommen sie die finanziellen Mittel für so einen geistigen Dünnpfiff?

Ich ging auf die Toilette und dachte nach. Wirklich. Besser gesagt, ich stellte mir Fragen. Warum wird (in den meisten Filmen) nicht erklärt, wie es zu dieser Z-Apokalypse kam? Die Handlung besteht nur aus dem Überlebenskampf der Protagonisten und das Ende bleibt offen. Nichts gegen gut gemachte Masken und tolle Effekte, aber solche Filme lassen mich sehr unbefriedigt zurück. Also entwickelte ich die Idee einer Kreatur, deren Biss Menschen in Untote verwandelt, die wiederum andere infizieren (Nichts wirklich neues, ich weiß). Aber woher sollte diese Kreatur kommen und wer sollte sie stoppen? Das Mann-gegen-Mann-Prinzip, das am Ende vieler Filme steht, schien mir perfekt für einen guten Showdown. Aber wer sollte der Hauptcharakter sein?
